This news is a couple of days old now, but Wigan Athletic Supporters Club would like to congratulate David Sharpe on his appointment onto the board of Directors at Wigan Athletic.
David is the grandson of Chairman and owner Dave Whelan and for some time has been active around the stadium and training ground to gain a better understanding on how a football club runs.
We would like to wish David the best of luck with his role on the board and hope he helps drive Wigan Athletic to better times again.
The simple announcement on Christmas Eve by the Club, read:
David Sharpe joins Wigan Athletic board as a director.
It can be confirmed that David Sharpe was last week appointed as a director of Wigan Athletic Football Club.
He joins Chairman Dave Whelan, Vice Chairman Phillip Williams, Brian Ashcroft, John Winstanley and Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson as members of the Wigan Athletic Board of Directors.
