If you are visiting this website, I’d hatch a guess that you are already well aware of the on-going battle our player Juan Carlos Garcia is currently undergoing.

After being diagnosed with leukaemia in February of this year, the fans and members of staff of Wigan Athletic have poured their heart and soul into supporting the Honduran, and this will continue to be proved this weekend when we face Fleetwood Town at the DW stadium, when the match will be dedicated to the player.

In a form of good will, the club are asking fans to send their good will messages to any of the following sources: @LaticsOfficial, on Facebook at facebook.com/wiganathletic, via Instagram to their account ‘laticsofficial‘ or directly onto the social media hub Latics Wall at wiganathletic.com/wall

The club have also began a Twitter hashtag – #FuerzaJCGarcia – and it’s there for all to see the support the 26-year-old has been receiving from his ‘English family’.

Warm_up_at_the_DW_StadiumJuan Carlos Garcia has sent a message directly to our fans, stating:

“Thank you to all the Latics fans. It is very moving for me to know the fans are doing this for me. I hope to see you soon.”

Away from the great gesture from the club for this weekends game comes the matter of bouncing back from the disappointing defeat to Port Vale last Saturday.

Anthony Grant and Louis Dodds fired Vale into a 2-0 lead, but as they had the week before when the Lactics made the sensational comeback against Chesterfield, Wigan showed their fighting spirit and clawed their way back into the game through Chris McCann and Leon Barnett to level it at 2-2.

Not long after Barnett’s equaliser he was handed his marching orders following a professional foul, which led to yet more disaster…

Last week a last minute goal sealed a sensational win, but sadly the Lactics couldn’t replicate that this week – as they felt the harsh blow of being on the other end of the stick, with Uche Ikpeazu scoring an injury time winner to send us home empty handed.

It’s always interesting to read up on what Bookies.com are touting as the bets of the weekend, and this weekend is no different. It’s always worth checking the site for all of the latest free bets news, and checking to see if there are any new football headlines about the Latics live on the site.

The bookies believe we are 10/11 favourites for the victory against Fleetwood, with the visitors available at 5/2 – it’s certainly the perfect game to bounce back from the loss at Port Vale.
