The club have also began a Twitter hashtag – #FuerzaJCGarcia – and it’s there for all to see the support the 26-year-old has been receiving from his ‘English family’.
Juan Carlos Garcia has sent a message directly to our fans, stating:
“Thank you to all the Latics fans. It is very moving for me to know the fans are doing this for me. I hope to see you soon.”
Away from the great gesture from the club for this weekends game comes the matter of bouncing back from the disappointing defeat to Port Vale last Saturday.
Anthony Grant and Louis Dodds fired Vale into a 2-0 lead, but as they had the week before when the Lactics made the sensational comeback against Chesterfield, Wigan showed their fighting spirit and clawed their way back into the game through Chris McCann and Leon Barnett to level it at 2-2.
Not long after Barnett’s equaliser he was handed his marching orders following a professional foul, which led to yet more disaster…
Last week a last minute goal sealed a sensational win, but sadly the Lactics couldn’t replicate that this week – as they felt the harsh blow of being on the other end of the stick, with Uche Ikpeazu scoring an injury time winner to send us home empty handed.
