Wigan Athletic won the FA Cup on the 11th May 2013 and the Club has given as much access as possible for us fans to see and even have photos with the oldest and most famous trophy in the World.
Unfortunately we have to give the Cup back so it can start its tour of the UK again, so on March 1st we will be saying goodbye to the actual Cup and will receive a ¾ size version for us to keep forever.
Wigan Athletic Supporters Club thought it would be wrong to let the Cup just go back to Wembley without a proper send off, so on Friday 28th February we will be holding a ‘Farewell to the FA Cup’ night, where we can give it a proper send off.
The night will start from 7.00 p.m. and will have the FA Cup there for photo opportunities, special guests, FA Cup and Wigan Athletic prizes, Entertainment and a fantastic Pie and peas Supper.
At the end of the night we will see the cup go back into its protective case ready for its return journey on Saturday morning. This will be the very last chance to see and have a photo that Wigan Athletic fans will get, until we next win it.
