It is 15 years since Latics said goodbye to their spiritual home and they did it with a 3-1 win in the League against Chesterfield which secured our place to play Manchester City in the play offs. There were some great memories at the old place and we hope our Annual Dinner night will stir some of them.
Bringing together the team that played the last ever League Game at Springfield Park was no easy task, but it has been done and on 17th April 2014 you will be able to meet up and remember some great times with them.
A great night is in store as Wigan Athletic Supporters Club brings together the team that played Chesterfield in the last ever League game at Springfield Park on 8th April 1999.
We will be holding the Event in the South Stand Suite of the DW Stadium on Thursday 17th April 2014 with doors opening at 7.00 p.m. and going on til late (it is Bank holiday next day when we will be playing Reading at home, so need to worry about work).
Names like Roy Carroll, David Lowe, Kevin Sharp, Stuart Barlow, David Lee, Pat McGibbon, Michael O Neill, Scott Green, Colin Greenall, Carl Bradshaw, Paul Rogers, Roberto Martinez, Graham Jones and the Match Referee have all been invited.
There will be a fantastic 2 course meal put on, Cottage Pie with all the trimmings (plus a vegetarian option) rounded off with desert. The players and Manager will then be introduced by our hosts on the night Ian Cheeseman and Paul Rowley and they will have help from Neil Rimmer.
There will be some fantastic prizes to be won on the night and we hope you can join us. Tickets are on a first come first serve basis and are priced at £12.50 see below for booking with no extra charges. You can also get tickets from the Supporters Bar before the Millwall game.
