Member’s receive the cheapest rates, but so ALL Wigan Athletic fans can travel to away games, since 2022 we have added a non member price to all our travel and events. Evidence of being a member can be asked for at any time, so please take your membership cards with you if you have booked a members rate when travelling on our coaches.
1. The “Alcohol & Prohibited Items” Clause (Crucial for Law)
It is a criminal offence in the UK to carry alcohol on a coach traveling to or from a designated sporting event.
In accordance with the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol) Act 1985, the carriage and consumption of alcohol on our coaches is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, the carriage of pyrotechnics (flares, smoke bombs), controlled drugs, or any other illegal substances is forbidden. We reserve the right to search bags and belongings; refusal to be searched or possession of prohibited items will result in immediate refusal of travel without a refund.
2. Arrival and Departure Times
Passengers are required to arrive at the designated pick-up point at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. In the interest of all supporters, coaches will depart promptly. We cannot wait for late arrivals and will not be held responsible for the welfare or alternative travel costs of any passenger who misses the departure, either for the outward or return journey.”
3. Match Delays and Liability
While we aim to arrive at the stadium in good time for kick-off, Wigan Athletic Supporters Club and our coach operators cannot be held liable for any delays caused by traffic congestion, roadworks, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. We are not responsible for any costs incurred should a match be missed, postponed, or rescheduled.
4. No Smoking or Vaping
For the comfort and safety of all passengers, smoking and the use of e-cigarettes or vapes are strictly prohibited at all times while on board the coach. This policy applies to all areas of the vehicle, including the toilet facilities. We ask that passengers wait for designated comfort breaks or the arrival at the destination to smoke or vape. Any passenger found in breach of this policy may be refused travel on the return journey and could face a ban from future Supporters Club travel.
5. Passenger Conduct & Ejection
Wigan Athletic Supporters Club operates a zero-tolerance policy toward disruptive behavior. We reserve the right to refuse boarding or eject any passenger who, in the opinion of the steward or driver, is under the influence of alcohol or drugs to the point of being a nuisance or a safety risk to others. Any passenger displaying drunken, aggressive, or abusive behavior—or anyone found consuming alcohol on board—will be required to leave the coach immediately. In such cases, the Supporters Club accepts no responsibility for the passenger’s onward travel or associated costs, and no refunds will be issued. Furthermore, such behavior may result in a permanent ban from all future Supporters Club travel.
6. Cleaning and Damage Charges
Any passenger who causes damage to the vehicle or requires it to be professionally cleaned (e.g., due to illness or spilt food/drink) will be held personally liable for the full cost of the cleaning or repairs as charged by the coach operator. Failure to pay these costs may result in a ban from future travel.
7. Personal Property
All personal belongings are carried at the owner’s risk. Neither the Supporters Club nor the coach operator accepts liability for any loss or damage to items left on the coach during the match or at the end of the journey.”
8. Return Journey Window
Unless otherwise instructed by the coach steward or police, all coaches will depart from the away stadium 30 minutes after the final whistle. It is the passenger’s responsibility to return to the coach park promptly.
9. Safeguarding (Under 16s)
All passengers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult (aged 18 or over). The Supporters Club reserves the right to ask for proof of age. Unaccompanied minors will be refused travel for safeguarding reasons, unless by prior arrangement
10. Seating & Movement
While we make every effort to honour specific seat requests and keep groups together on their designated coach, unforeseen operational requirements may occasionally necessitate moving passengers to an alternative vehicle. However, we guarantee that all passengers will be transported to the destination. To ensure the safety and efficiency of our service, passengers must occupy the same seat on the return journey that they were seated at on the outward journey. This helps our stewards manage manifesto, observes that passengers may have items stored on their seat or they were seated near other friends or family and ensures the coach can depart the stadium as quickly as possible.
11. Refunds
Please be aware that under normal circumstances NO REFUNDS will be given once a booking has been taken.
