The Brick Christmas Appeal

We are pleased to be supporting The Brick Christmas Appeal this year, supporting families in need across Wigan.

Every home game until Christmas, we encourage fans to drop items from the Christmas appeal list with us in the South Stand Supporters Bar pre-match.

We will then deliver to The Brick.

Fans can drop items on non-match days at the

Wigan Athletic Community Trust Offices opposite

the stadium.

Any donation no matter how small will help!

WASC Quiz Night hosted by Barry Worthington from the PWU Podcast

Community Trust Christmas Events

Our committee volunteers will be supporting the Wigan Athletic Community Trust Christmas events for young and older vulnerable people in Wigan 2023. We will be helping to provide gifts for attendees. If you can support this initiative, then contact us: info@wiganathleticsupportersclub.co.uk

Projects

The Heritage Project

The Heritage team first met back in August after an inquiry from Diane Winnard at the Football Club about where the historical data of our Football Club could be found.

We put together a group of Wigan Athletic historians and put out an open call for volunteers. Since then the group has met three times and embarked on an ambitious project to produce an electronic database of all WAFC matches since 1932.

The team has increased in number and ambition with every meeting and they have accomplished a great deal in just three months.

  • Set up a database and website to host the historical data about matches and players
  • Conducted Heritage Stadium Tours during October half term for supporters
  • Hosted Heritage display tables at two home matches during September and October in the South Stand Supporters Bar for fans to visit and engage with
  • Prepared a development plan and draft constitution to formalise the work of the group

The Heritage Project Team meets once per month in Whelan’s Sports Bar at the DW Stadium. If you would like to volunteer to join the Heritage Project Team, email us: admin@wafcheritage.co.uk
The Wigan Athletic Past Players Association

We are supporting the initiative to relaunch the Past Players Association for WAFC.  The aim of the project is to collate a database of past players and link this to the Heritage Project by giving every player a unique heritage number.

Past Players will be offered a package of continued liaison with the Football Club including social events and match experiences in conjunction with the club.

The group will provide a vital connection between players from our history and our Football Club today.

The past is where you learn your lessons to build your present and future

The Inclusivity Project

After a successful day at the home match on Saturday 28th October v Shrewsbury celebrating Rainbow Laces Day, we are joining forces with the Community Trust and the Football Club with the aim of improving inclusivity for all underrepresented groups at WAFC.

The first meeting will be held on Wednesday 8th November at the Community Trust offices (opposite the DW Stadium).

To join the project email Diane Winnard d.winnard@wiganathletic.com

Official Wigan Athletic Supporters Club International Branches

We have been working for some time making contact with supporters around the world who run their own mini supporters’ clubs for Wigan Athletic. Some of these groups get together on matchdays, some are individual representatives flying the flag for WAFC across the globe.

We wanted to give Wigan fans the opportunity to contact these international fans if they are visiting the country or just to get in touch with fans around the world!

We are delighted to be launching the Official WASC International Branches. Each branch has their own dedicated WASC email address that fans can contact them on. Each branch will also receive an Official Supporters Club pack.

If you are a Wigan Athletic fan based abroad and you would like to register as an Official WASC International Branch then just get in touch:

Finally…

The Official Wigan Athletic Supporters Club works on behalf of fans, club and community. We are all volunteers who give up our time for the benefit of our Football Club.  We are always looking for keen volunteers with time to commit to activities and projects that benefit Wigan Athletic and its community.

If you would like to get involved, email us:
